Varschec is 130km away from Sofia International Airport travelling by car on highway E79 and 80km away from the port of Vidin on the Danube river.

Dr Damian Ivanov, the first balneologist in Bulgaria who graduated in Austria with a degree in Medicine designed a park in 1910 which can be found in the town’s centre. During this period, the park in Varshets is the second biggest natural park ever built in the country with more than 80 acres of pine trees and specifically imported suitable exotic plants. The Planetree Alley is at the centre of the park and has remained to date a favourite place for those enjoying the nature. Near buy stands the first casino in the country which has been designed by the architect who created the famous balneological resort in Baden-Baden.
Dr Ivanov succeeded in establishing Varshets as a famous resort on a European level, often visited by Buglarian aristocracy. Today, Varshets is being rebuilt, offering opportunities for all people seeking relaxation from the busy city life.
