The St George Hotel is a 3* apartment hotel, and the only apartment hotel in the region. It is situated in Chepalare, a ski resort, in the Rhodopi Mountains.
Apartments have 2 or 3 rooms, including a dining room/kitchen. They each have a well-appointed bathroom with a shower, plenty of hot water and under floor heating. They also each have at least one balcony, many of them with views of the mountains and pistes (which are a few kilometres away). Single beds and single rooms in shared apartments may be available on request. The entire hotel is triple-glazed and very comfortable and cosy.
The nearest ski lift is 2 km from the hotel, and takes you to the top of Chepalare's Mechi Chal I and II slopes which the Lonely Planet Guide describes as "two of the best slopes in the Balkans". Chepalare has its own ski factory, and is a good place to buy cheap, locally made ski gear. This resort is quieter and more relaxed than its neighbour, Pamporovo, which is just 10km away.
